Sawtooth Coriander

I got 2 small Sawtooth Coriander plants from Alokarama. I am trying to grow them in the garden. I am not sure how they propagate but I hope they would grow well.

If you see the leaves of the plant, you will see its serrated edges that looks similar to a saw. Hence, the name Sawtooth Coriander.

While in Alokarama, we were introduced to this herb that has a similar taste to coriander. We sliced the herbs thinly and put it into our nasi ulam. I like its crunchiness and coriandeer-like fragrant. A good substitute for coriander if you don't have any in the fridge.

Have you tasted the Sawtooth Coriander before?

I just got a plant from my mum 2 weeks ago. We call it shaddo benny in the islands and is very popular in Trinidad and Tobago. It is a very good herb to have in the garden and it quickly reseeds in the garden.

No, I have not tasted this kind of coriander before. But they do look nice. Oh, you eat with nasi ulam? How nice ;-) Happy gardening herbs!

Dear Ayie, that's a sawtooth coriander. It's different from normal coriander.

Greetings JC. Yeap, you can always substitute the saw tooth coriander with the actual coriander, and it is not a fussy plant and grows well.... I love it and have plenty in my garden....

I love these herbs! They are great in soups.

I am hoping to get some seeds and grow them out here in northern California.
