A Garden of Pride (Featured Garden Series)

Today I would like to share with you the beautiful garden of my close buddy, Rox. Like me, Rox is also an avid gardener. She plants flowers, herbs and also recently started planting vegetables organically. She has inspired me to start planting vegies in my garden. And you must see her Adenium and Bougainvillae!! Her thumbs are truly green ~ those blossoms would just make you go speechless!!

Rox' neat garden

Her glorious Red Adeniums are full with blooms

This Bougainvillae has 5 different coloured flowers.
I wish I can make my Bougainvillae blooms like hers.

Another pot of Bougainvillae

A very healthy looking Aloe Vera. Rox said the Aloe Vera is ready to be eaten when there is no longer any white spots on its stems. I love eating aloe vera boiled with dried longan and pandan leaves. It's a delicious dessert when served chilled!

Healthy basil that smells so sweet!

A beautiful daisy in bloom.

I love this plant that has been with the family for a long time. Can someone tell me the name of this plant?

A little bird dropped the seed of a bird's nest into the side hole of this pot. See the beautiful bird's nest!

A flower of the lady finger

A lady finger ready to be pluck soon?

Guess what plant is this?

If you have guessed radish, then you are right! Radish peeking from the ground!

The first time I saw radishes in Rox's garden, I was elated like a little child!
I was so happy to see the fruit of her hardwork!

A very good harvest! Rox gave us this to bring home!

So, what do you have to say about Rox's garden? Isn't it fun?

Lastly, I want to take this opportunity to wish all Buddhists in the world a Happy Wesak Day. Wesak Day is celebrated by Buddhists to celebrate the birth, enlightenment & passing away of Budda. To the rest, I wish you a lovely weekend with the family.

Black Spots on Plumeria

I found black spots on some leaves of my plumeria. When I was at Sg. Buluh's nurseries, I asked one of them what's wrong with my plumeria that I got these black spots on the leaves. The explanation given was those are old leaves. I find the answer unconvincing. I hope to see my plumeria blooming with fragrant flowers. I hope it won't die on me.

Can someone help to explain what has gone wrong with my plumeria? What's the diagnosis and treatment? Appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Ground Cover

Do you cover the ground around your plants with other plants? I do. I learnt it from my neighbour, Jenny. She has a beautiful garden that reflects her strong creativity. She gave me the above tiny, round leaf plant that you can see covering the bottom of my Adenium stem. Unfortunately, I do not know the name of this plant. It is a sturdy plant that is very easy to propagate. Just pluck some off the existing plant, throw it into a pot and it will grow very fast. It can be invasive and grown out of control. So from time to time, I will trim them off. But they look really beautiful.

Another plant that I use to decorate the ground of my taller Plumeria (also known as Frangipani or Kemboja) plant is the one shown below. Again, I do not know it's name. I have this plant for many years. So, I am rather ashamed that I have never bothered to check out its name. Can anyone help me with this?

Sawtooth Coriander

I got 2 small Sawtooth Coriander plants from Alokarama. I am trying to grow them in the garden. I am not sure how they propagate but I hope they would grow well.

If you see the leaves of the plant, you will see its serrated edges that looks similar to a saw. Hence, the name Sawtooth Coriander.

While in Alokarama, we were introduced to this herb that has a similar taste to coriander. We sliced the herbs thinly and put it into our nasi ulam. I like its crunchiness and coriandeer-like fragrant. A good substitute for coriander if you don't have any in the fridge.

Have you tasted the Sawtooth Coriander before?

My Adenium's Blooming Progress

Glad to share with all of you the blooming progress of my Adenium. There are so many blooms. I must thank my friend, Roxanne, who has shared with me the tricks on how to get beautiful and many blooms out of an Adenium. You just simply have to prune it often!
